A stuff.nz report on Monday said that under the ICC's Code of Conduct, Ishan could be charged with a Level 3 offense of attempting to gain undue advantage, which could lead to a suspension of four to 12 ODIs or T20 Internationals. Matches are suspended. However, ICC match referee Javagat Srinath let Ishaan off with just a warning.

The report said that match referee Javagal Srinath spoke to Ishaan about the incident after the match, in which Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid were involved. 

Srinath also spoke to stand-in Black Caps head coach Luke Ronchi and the team management. The visiting team is happy not to pursue the matter further.

In the first match of the series between the two teams, Team India won the toss and batted first. Batting first, on the basis of Shubman Gill's innings of 208 runs, Team India scored 349 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs.
